Philippine Passport Requirements for the First Time Applicants

Secure your passport and fulfill those travel goals soon. But first! Remember to prepare these documents to expedite your passport processing.Oops! Don't forget to photocopy these documents too.




MANDATORY DOCUMENTS
Here is a list of the mandatory documents.
1.Printed Appointment Form 

The initial step to secure your passport is set an appointment through DFA's online appointment system.After, accomplishing the form, make sure to have it printed and bring it on your appointment date.

Have patience!: a lot of people are reserving their slots and you might find it difficult to book for a schedule. Good thing that the DFA is regulating it now through requiring payment in each reservation.

2. Birth Certificate


The very basic document you'll ever need is your birth certificate. Authenticated copy from the PSA is preferable if the copy from your Local Civil Registrar is too blurred and unreadable.


3. Marriage Contract

For married people,have your marriage contract photocopied especially for women who opted to use the surnames of their husbands.


4. Old lDs and Valid IDs 

Yes old school IDs from decades ago, alumni cards, and IDs from your previous work might come in handy since spelling of your name is indicated there.

Any one of the following government IDs are also accepted:Digitized SSS ID,Driver’s License,GSIS E-card,PRC ID,IBP ID,OWWA ID,Digitized BIR ID,Senior Citizen’s ID,Unified Multi-Purpose ID and, Voter’s ID.

Again, not everything here is required, yet if you have it all, just have it photocopied and bring since these all serve as verification of your identity.



SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS


Then again, please also allot time to locate at least two of the following old documents with your photo and specifying your correct name, date and place of birth, and signature.


5. School Records,Yearbooks,and School Diploma

For current students, transcript of records or school cards are also accepted.

Also, you might want to look for your dusty yearbook hiding inside your cabinets since this has your name on it and also serves as a proof. 

6.Government Clearances

If locating old documents is giving you a headache then you can opt to secure clearances from from the following offices: NBI,Police precinct and barangay.
