6 Reasons to book a trip to the Pasig River via the Zooper Cruise

Why do you travel? Possibly, most people would say that traveling is escaping from their stressful life. In my case, I travel not only to unwind but also to learn. For me traveling and learning should go hand in hand. Learning through traveling does not only means learning through our exhilarating and enervating experiences but also embracing the culture, tradition and history of each place.

As the Prophet Mohammed had put it into his words: Don’t tell me how educated you are, tell me how much you traveled.”

Indeed, it is through traveling that we could have the opportunity to reflect and gain some wisdom making us wiser individuals.

So let me give you the 6 reasons why you should book a trip to the Pasig River via the Zooper Cruise. Then again, let me first give you a glimpse of what Zooper Group is all about

Zooper Cruise

Zooper Cruise is the newest venture of Zoomanity Group. It is a two-hour tour from Valenzuela Ferry Station to Escolta Ferry Station and vice versa. During the voyage, you'll get to see some historical spots of Manila.

1.Learn about the rich history of Pasig River

For a girl like me who was not raised in Manila, I would say that I only learned about Pasig River through text books like Noli Me Tangere. Yet, it is reflected through the establishments along the riverbanks of Pasig River on how it has became a witnessed to the hundred years of history way back from the colonization of foreign lands to the post-war era.

Another interesting thing you’ll get to see during the trip is the Malacanang Palace, the official residence of the President of the Philippines. Though, we can’t take photos of the neo-classical structure, you can still be entertained by the set of interesting trivia that the Captain of the boat is discussing.

Ayala Suspension Bridge

Famous bridges that people often disregard are also included in the attractions you’ll get to see up close during the trip. These include the Quezon Bridge, Jones Bridge and Nagtahan Bridge.

Light House located near the boundary of Pasig River and Manila Bay

Indeed, seeing these tourist attractions in a different angle made me appreciate more its magnificence as well as its significance through the lives of people residing along the river.

You'll also pass by Fort Santiago that was constructed by the Spanish colonial government. The said facility was where Dr. Jose Rizal was imprisoned before he was executed.

Manila Post Office

Get enamored with structures that were built during the American colonization such as the Manila Central Post Office.

2. Satisfy your taste with one of Manila’s finest restaurant

Included in the tour package is a stop-over at Escolta Ferry Station, wherein a sumptuous meal from Uno Seafood Restaurant will be served for the guests. You can also drop by at the Polland store to buy different treats.

Sta. Cruz Church

You can also have a short walk to see some well-known tourist attractions such as the Sta.Cruz church and the Escolta St.

3.Meeting a diverse group of people

With a 120-seater capacity and at least two hours of entertaining voyage, you’ll also have the chance to meet interesting people from different industry inside the boat. I was lucky that I had the chance to meet former Vice Governor Marc Leviste and MMDA Assistant Secretary General Julia Nebrija. I am even luckier since my college classmate was also there to represent Sen. Grace Poe.

4.Superior amenities and excellent services

Upon entering the boat you’ll be welcome by the warm grins of the crew. Snacks such as cookies, cracker chips, ice cream and different flavored drinks are all available during the voyage. Oh! did I say there’s unlimited coffee also.

During the tour, you’ll be entertained by Zoomanity crew with set of trivia and games for the guests.

The boat is fully air-conditioned yet guests can still enjoy the view as well as the cool breeze outside the deck. A mini bar as well as clean comfort rooms are also inside the boat.

5.Take a voyage for a cause

Part of the proceeds of each Zooper Cruise voyage would go to the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives of Zoomanity Group.

6.Help to revive the beauty of Pasig River

Who would have thought that a cruise to the infamous Pasig River could be that entertaining and enjoying? Seriously, the government should consider reviving the river beds and shores of Pasig River for the local and foreign tourists.

Let us relive the amazing stories of Pasig River and revive its glory!
