5 Things you need to know before that Sagada Trip

If you’ve finally decided to have that Sagada trip here is a list of the things you should remember.

1.Bring more than enough money
Sagada is a small community up on the mountains and only a single ATM is available. Sometimes it will run out of money due to the number of tourists visiting. So better bring more than enough money.

2.Sagada Information Center
Sagada Tourism Office
If you’re exploring the tourist spots at Sagada such as the caves and the hanging coffins. Then you must remember to first drop by at the tourism office since you need to register and pay a minimal environmental fee.
Accredited local tourist guides for the caves will also be there. I believe you can’t enter the caves without the friendly tour guides.
Please don't be half-hearted on paying these fees since this is one way to help the community in maintaining and preserving their tourist attractions. Also, this is a good way of giving livelihood to the community people.

3.Eat earlier than usual

Yes! You have a variety of restaurants to choose from at Sagada. Yet, they are not spacious enough to accommodate a lot of tourists especially during peak season. In my 3 day stay I’ve observed that most of the restaurants have few staff and orders may really take long before they are served. So I suggest that you eat at least 30 minutes earlier than the usual meal time to prevent yourself of being grumpy while waiting for your meal.

4.Be Ready to walk

Walk!walk!walk! These are the three things that tourists would have to do at Sagada. Indeed! It is enervating and needs a lot of endurance. Yet, I assure you, your patience and perseverance will make you marvel to the hidden beauty of Sagada.

 5.Check on the weather
Sometimes weather forecasts may not be accurate. Yet, it may come in handy in some cases. I recommend you to check on the forecast before planning your trip to Sagada. Since one of the tourists I had a conversation with mentioned her mishap during her first visit at Sagada. She said that it was raining tremendously during those time and she can’t do anything then since the local authorities halted all the tourist activities for safety reasons.
I bet,you don’t want to waste your time and money locking yourself inside the hotel room. So better research first before proceeding to your trip.
So if you have all the things checked then you're good to go.
