4 Places to Visit at Sagada to know about their Culture

If you're not into extreme activities and you just wanted to explore the other side of Sagada then here is a list of the 4 places you have to check-out to know more about Sagada's culture and traditions.

1. Sagada Weaving

Besides their readily available high quality bags and shoes, you can also have an access in their small factory at the back of the store. Huge traditional looms with lots of colorful threads hooked piece by piece are truly fascinating.

2. St. Mary the Virgin Church
St. Mary the Virgin Church, an Anglican church, is the oldest church in the cordilleras. The church was once bombarded by the Americans during the World War II since some Japanese soldiers were hiding inside. Yet, it was then reconstructed after the war.

3. Sagada Public Cemetery
On the way to the famous Sagada Hanging Coffins is the public cemetery. One interesting practice of the locals of Sagada is that they lit fire on the graves of their love ones since they believe that the flame shall warm the spirits of the dead.

 4. Sagada Hanging Coffins
The trekking down the hills of the Hanging Coffins is not that challenging. Yet, for some that can't take the tussle you may check out the view deck located along the way to Sagada Caves.

Another must see place is the Sagada Museum located across the municipal hall. Yet,since the museum closes early I was not able to check it out.
Absolutely, the locals of Saada successfully preserved and maintained their rich culture and traditions.
